Coronavirus information and cancellation policies.

We understand that in light of the global discussion around the novel coronavirus COVID-19, you may be wondering what it means for you as a traveler, and what your options are.

It's important to note that at this time travel restrictions are limited, but new information is rapidly becoming available as the situation evolves. If you find yourself bound to travel restrictions or wish to cancel for other reasons, this resource explains the various considerations and policies. 

Directing cancellation requests

  • If you booked through Vrbo, Booking.com, or LoveRentals.com directly, please refer to your rental agreement for the cancellation policies. Love Rentals works with property manager suppliers around the world, so these procedures will vary accordingly.
  • If you booked through Airbnb or TripAdvisor please contact them directly to initiate the cancellation process.
  • If you booked a package holiday with a tour operator (i.e. Virgin Holidays) please contact them directly to initiate a cancellation request.

Refunds & rebooking

  • If you booked through Airbnb and your case qualifies for their 'extenuating circumstances' criteria, they will dictate whether or not a refund is in order.
  • If you booked directly at LoveRentals.com, Vrbo, Booking.com, or elsewhere, and you wish to cancel, refunds and rebookings will be determined according to the rental agreement. You may be eligible for a credit towards a future stay if you are in a travel-restricted area, or if you have a confirmed case of COVID-19 within your traveling party (medical documentation required).
  • If you are outside of the cancellation notice window to receive a refund according to the rental agreement, contact your travel insurance provider. Bear in mind that a travel insurance claim requires documentation of the precipitating event from a medical professional or government agency/official.
